Furniture slides down the belt and you decide one thing: left box or right box. Pack a box tight and it seals for points; pack it badly and it gets crushed. Seal a box with no gaps inside and it is worth triple.
Controls
- Touch — swipe left anywhere on the lower half of the screen
- Send the piece coming down the belt into the left box; the ghost outline on that side fills in solid so you can see where it will land
- Touch — swipe right anywhere on the lower half of the screen
- Send the piece into the right box instead; you can keep switching until the piece reaches the fork at the bottom of the belt
- Touch or mouse — tap or click either cardboard box directly
- Aim at that box without swiping, which is the faster option when both boxes are already on screen
- Keyboard — Left Arrow or Right Arrow
- Aim at the left or right box. These are the only gameplay keys: Space does nothing, and you never rotate or place a piece yourself
- No input at all before the piece reaches the fork
- The piece goes wherever the last one went. The first piece of a run goes left, so doing nothing is a real choice, not a pause
- Escape, or the Pause button in the top bar
- Pause the run, then resume, restart, change sound, vibration, reduced motion and high-contrast texture, or quit to the title
How to play
ObjectiveRoute each piece of furniture into one of two cardboard boxes, seal as many boxes as you can, and keep them free of buried gaps for triple points.
Getting started
- Press Play on the title screen. The left box already has four rows packed, so every run begins by finishing a half-full box. On your first run only, the right box arrives after that first box seals.
- Read the belt before you decide anything: you can see the piece that is coming plus the next two, and each box draws a translucent ghost of exactly where that piece would land.
- Swipe left or right, or tap a box, to pick a side. The chosen side's ghost turns solid and the other fades, and you can keep changing your mind until the piece reaches the fork.
- Check the ghost for red dots. Those mark empty squares that this drop would bury, and burying even one square puts out that box's gold rim permanently — no triple score from that box.
- Keep packing until a box reaches 36 of its 48 squares and its lid lights up. The next piece that fits there seals and scores it; a red cross means the current piece would crush it instead.
- Switch sides the moment a box seals. That side spends one beat sliding a fresh empty box into place, and anything sent there in the meantime hits the floor. This costs a roll of tape outside Sprint.
- Play on until your three rolls of tape are gone. Sprint instead ends after 60 seconds and never spends tape, and Today's Move ends after 40 pieces or when the tape runs out, whichever comes first.
- On the result screen your last box is redrawn with its buried squares circled, next to the score you would have had gap-free. Press Play again to restart the same mode and difficulty straight away.
Tips
- Furniture always slides to the leftmost place it still fits and drops there — it does not hunt for the lowest hollow. Send three mattresses into an empty box and you get two columns six high with four columns still bare, so read every box as a stack growing out from its left wall.
- Keep the left edge of a box level, because that is where the next wide piece is going to land. A three-wide sofa dropped onto a left edge that steps from two squares up to five bridges the whole step and buries eight squares in one go, which is more than a whole box is usually worth.
- The cat tree is the only one of the nine shapes that buries squares even on a perfectly flat surface: its bottom row is a single middle square, so two squares always end up sealed under its arms. Every cat tree belongs in the box you have already given up on.
- Watch when tall pieces start jumping right. The 1x3 bookshelf and the 2x3 fridge no longer fit on the left once those columns reach the sixth row, so late in a box they land in the middle or on the right instead — exactly where you were saving room for something else.
- Once a lid lights up, inspect the next ghost before committing. A bowl, stool, sofa or mattress that fits on a level surface keeps the box gap-free; a red cross means the piece would crush the box, while a cat tree would remove the triple bonus.
- Hold out for the cat bowl when a box has a single-square notch. Route other furniture to the second box until the bowl reaches the front, because its one square is the only shape that can fill that notch cleanly.
- A later seal pays more because the score is the filled squares squared and then divided by four. A 40-square seal pays 400 and a 44-square seal pays 484 — and gap-free triples both, so 1,200 against 1,452.
- Protect your seal chain once it is long. Each consecutive seal without breaking tape adds another 80 up to a cap of 400, and one crush zeroes it, so a boring safe side is often worth more than a pretty one.
- Remember the belt speeds up every two seals, 0.1 seconds off the beat down to a floor of 0.9 seconds. Once you are chaining well, use the three-piece queue to decide a piece ahead instead of deciding on the fly.
- Use Sprint to practise the gap-free habit, because tape is never spent there. You can deliberately drop a cat tree into a clean box and watch the gold rim die without paying for the lesson.

The piece slides to the leftmost position where it still fits inside the box and drops straight down from there. It does not search for the lowest hollow and it never rotates, so boxes fill outward from their left wall, and a piece only moves right when the left columns have grown too tall for it to fit under the box rim.

How do I seal a gap-free box for the triple score?
Keep every buried square out of one box by sending each piece that would bury one to the other box instead. The cat tree buries two squares even on a flat surface, so it is the piece that most often ends a clean run.
Why did my box get crushed in Kitten Move?
A box is crushed when you send it a piece that has nowhere left to fit under the box rim, and the side shows a red cross instead of a ghost to warn you a beat early. Outside Sprint, a crush costs one of your three rolls of tape. It also throws away everything already packed in that box, which can erase a nearly finished seal.
Why did my furniture fall on the floor right after I sealed a box?

Endless runs until your three rolls of tape are gone and is where your best score lives. Sprint gives you 60 seconds and never spends tape, so crushes cost you only time and the boxes inside them. Today's Move deals the same 40 pieces to everyone on the same UTC date so you can compare with your own earlier attempts — there is no leaderboard and nothing is compared against other players.
How do I unlock the cat skins and furniture sets in Kitten Move?
Skins and furniture sets unlock from totals that build up across all your runs on this device: your level rises one step for every 12 boxes you seal, and the six cats unlock from a mix of level, total boxes sealed and total gap-free boxes. The four furniture sets unlock by level. All of it is appearance only — the nine shapes, how often each turns up and every scoring rule stay exactly the same.
Is Kitten Move suitable for children?
Yes, it is built for ages seven and up: there is no violence, no chat, no user-generated content, no purchases and no ads. Failing simply means a cardboard box collapses and the kitten covers its face. One round takes one to two minutes, and the pause panel has switches for sound, vibration, reduced motion and a high-contrast texture if the visuals are too busy.
Is my Kitten Move progress saved?
Yes, your best score, level, unlocks and daily streak are stored in this browser on this device only. They do not follow you to another device, and clearing site data erases them. If storage is unavailable, the pause panel says so and you can still finish the run.
What should I do if Kitten Move does not finish loading?
Reload the page and check your connection first. If only the room background or another decorative layer fails, choose Retry or Play anyway; the boxes, furniture, landing previews and scoring still work without those decorations.
