Cloud Kitchen
Drag one thing onto a different thing, cook in the clouds, and serve the shift's orders before the counter scorches.
Controls
- Touch — press a tile and drag it onto a different tile
- Combines the two if the pair is a recipe; the drop tile keeps the new item and the tile you came from empties
- Touch — drag a finished dish onto an order card at the top
- Serves it, scores it, and cools that tile and its four neighbours by one
- Touch — tap a tile to pick it up, then tap a target
- Every legal target lights up when you pick up, so you can tap a tile or an order card instead of dragging
- Touch or mouse — drag back to the tile you started on and let go
- Cancels the move; nothing combines and no tile is heated
- Mouse — hold the left button on a tile, drag, release over the target
- Exactly the same move as touch, including the heat preview while you drag
- Keyboard — arrow keys, then Enter or Space
- Arrow keys move the cursor across the counter; Enter or Space picks the item up and drops it on the tile under the cursor
- Keyboard — Escape, R, or the Pause button
- Escape puts down whatever you picked up, R restarts the shift, and the Pause button opens sound, motion and vibration settings
How to play
ObjectiveServe the shift's order quota before scorched tiles reach the shift's limit. Combining opens a stove that heats the tiles around it, a tile heated three times scorches for good, and serving an order is the only thing that cools anything down.
Getting started
- Choose Open Up, then pick Relaxed, Standard or Busy. Busy pays the most and forgives the least, and you can switch before any shift.
- Read the three order cards above the counter. Each names a dish, how many are wanted, and shows a small icon in its corner — that icon is the ingredient that finishes the dish.
- Drag one ingredient onto a different ingredient. Two of the same never combine, and two different ones always make Cloud Dough.
- Finish the dough by dragging it onto an ingredient an order is asking for: Dewberry makes a Sunset Tart, Cloud Milk makes a Galaxy Jelly, Wheat Grain makes a Golden Pancake.
- Watch the four tiles that light up orange while you drag. Those are the tiles the stove will heat when you let go, and the tile you drop on stays cool.
- Drag the finished dish onto the matching order card, or tap the card. That serves it, scores it and cools the tile you served from plus its four neighbours.
- Keep an eye on the Scorched and Empty counters in the HUD. A tile heated three times scorches for the rest of the shift, and at zero empty tiles the next restock scorches your hottest tile instead of dropping anything.
- The shift ends when you reach the order quota, which clears it, or when scorched tiles reach the shift's limit. The result screen shows what happened and starts the next attempt in one tap.
Tips
- Check the finisher icon on the order cards before you combine anything. Combining two ingredients spends both, and if one of them was the last Dewberry on the counter, the Sunset Tart an order is waiting for cannot be made until restock brings another.
- Drop against an edge instead of the middle. A stove heats the four tiles orthogonally around the drop, so an edge drop touches three tiles and a corner drop only two.
- Do not use the same corner over and over. Once that corner's own neighbours scorch, they stop absorbing heat and push it onto live tiles instead, which can put two points of heat on one tile and makes that corner the most expensive drop on the counter.
- Serve from the hot side of the counter. Serving cools the tile you served from and its four neighbours by one, so handing over a dish that was sitting in a cool corner wastes the only cooling the game gives you.
- Combine things that are already close together. When the start and the drop are three or more tiles apart, the four tiles around the tile you left behind are heated as well.
- Treat a pile of the same ingredient as dead weight, not as a stock. Five Dewberries cannot combine with each other, and neither can two Cloud Doughs, so finish a dough with an ingredient before you make the next one.
- Keep a column empty on purpose. Restock drops into the lowest empty tile of whichever column has the most empty tiles, so an empty column pulls new ingredients away from the area you are working in.
- Choose which card you complete next. The first two orders of a shift pay ×1, the third and fourth ×1.25, the fifth and sixth ×1.5, and the seventh onwards ×2, so a Cloudtop Signature is worth far more once you are in the high band.
- Start the second dish line four or five moves before you want a Signature. It needs two different dishes, and that one merge heats the tiles around both ends no matter how short the drag is.
- Never let the empty tile count reach zero. With nowhere to land, restock scorches your hottest tile instead of dropping an ingredient, and that also resets your streak multiplier to ×1.
FAQ
How do I start playing Cloud Kitchen?
Choose Open Up on the title screen, pick Relaxed, Standard or Busy, and the counter opens with ingredients already on it. The first shift has no heat at all, so your first few drags cannot go wrong, and a short strip above the buttons explains each new rule the first time it actually happens to you.
Do I need to download Cloud Kitchen or make an account?
No. Cloud Kitchen runs in the browser with no download and no account, and you can start as a guest. There is no energy bar, no waiting timer, no purchases and no in-game ads, so nothing stops you from playing another shift straight away.
Why won't two of the same ingredients combine?
That is the core rule: matching things never combine in Cloud Kitchen, only different things do. Two different ingredients make Cloud Dough, dough plus an ingredient makes that ingredient's dish, and two different dishes make the Cloudtop Signature. Dragging one thing onto an identical one just bounces back and costs you nothing.
How do I play Cloud Kitchen on a phone or tablet?
Press a tile and drag it onto a different tile, then drag a finished dish onto an order card to serve it. If a card is out of comfortable reach, tap the tile instead: every legal target lights up, and you tap the tile or the order card you want. The layout is designed for portrait play with one thumb.
What are the keyboard and mouse controls?
With a mouse, hold the left button on a tile, drag, and release over the target. With a keyboard, the arrow keys move the cursor across the counter, Enter or Space picks up and then drops, Escape puts the item back down, and R restarts the shift. Gamepads are not supported.
Why do my tiles keep scorching?
Every combine opens a stove that adds one heat to the four tiles orthogonally around the tile you dropped on, and a tile heated three times scorches for the rest of the shift. Drops in the middle heat four tiles, edges heat three and corners two. A drag of three or more tiles also heats the four tiles around where you started.
How do I cool the counter down?
Serving an order is the only way. When you hand something over, the tile you served from and its four neighbours each lose one heat. Nothing cools on its own, scorched tiles never come back, and a scorched tile does not soak up heat either — it pushes that heat onto the live tiles beside it.
How does scoring work in Cloud Kitchen?
You score when you serve, and every item has a value: ingredient 5, Cloud Dough 15, a dish 40, Cloudtop Signature 150. That value is multiplied by your streak — ×1 for the first two orders, ×1.25 for the third and fourth, ×1.5 for the fifth and sixth, ×2 from the seventh. Order cards ask for dishes, so handing over a Signature instead pays its own 150. Clearing the shift adds 100 per order in the quota, and a shift with no scorched tile adds another 25 per order.
How do I earn three stars on a shift?
Each shift has three score thresholds, shown on the result screen next to what you actually reached. On the standard fourth shift, serving every order as a plain dish with no scorched tiles lands near two stars, so the third star needs at least one Cloudtop Signature served in a high streak band, or a run with no scorched tiles at all.
Is my Cloud Kitchen progress saved, and does it move between devices?
Your shifts, stars, decor and best scores are saved in the current browser on the current device only. There is no account and no cloud sync, so progress does not appear on another device or in another browser, and clearing site data or playing in a private window can hide or remove it.
Can I play Cloud Kitchen offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded, shifts, stars and decor all work without a connection and nothing is uploaded while you are offline. The only feature that needs the network is the shareable result link; saving the result image happens entirely on your own device.
What should I do if the game will not load or has no sound?
If loading stalls, wait a moment, reload the page, and use Try again if the offline screen appears — the kitchen also opens without a connection. If there is no sound, open the Pause panel, turn Sound on and check the volume slider, then check your device volume and silent switch and tap the page once so a mobile browser can start audio.
